Internet of Water Roundtable: Colorado River Basin
Date & Time
January 29-30, 2019
Location
Utah Department of Natural Resources, Salt Lake City, Utah
Host: Aspen Institute, Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, and the Walton Family Foundation
The Aspen Institute and Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions are hosting a series of roundtable events in different geographic regions and with different sectors to explore what the Internet of Water means to them. These invite-only events include 20-30 people engaging in a moderated discussion. The Colorado River Basin roundtable explored three ongoing projects, which are all working toward laying a foundation of open and interoperable water data, and all have significant applications for water management in the Colorado River basin: the Internet of Water (IoW), the Water Data Exchange (WaDE), and the OpenET project. The discussion focused around the water data needs of the Upper Colorado River Basin and the opportunities to leverage from these projects, and other ongoing efforts, to meet some of those needs. An addendum will be added to the original Internet of Water report once all roundtable events are completed.
